Visiting Harrogate - Business and Pleasure.

One of the Yorkshire towns I would recommend anyone visits is Harrogate. It is

a beautiful spa town and one that has been a short break or business conference destination for many years.

There are some amazing restaurants from Italian, Greek, Turkish and of course some very good traditional English ones too.The shops are a shoppers paradise with some really upmarket brands which make even window shopping a pleasure.

I was lucky enough recently to stay at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Harrogate which is next door to the Harrogate Conference Centre. The hotel has eleven floors many of which have panoramic views overlooking the town.

Arriving at the hotel there is a car park underneath and a lift from the car park straight into the hotel. This is really useful if the weather is bad. The hotel has a spacious lobby and a bar which serves food throughout the day. The dishes we had which included pizza, ham egg and chips and salmon superfood salads were very good and plentiful.

If you would prefer a more formal setting the restaurant is on the first floor.

The Crowne Plaza has a small gym for clients to use. This could come in handy after a meal within the hotel.

There is a walkway from the hotel to the Harrogate Conference Centre which for anyone exhibiting or attending an event would be very welcome indeed. No need to drag equipment through rain and snow.

For anyone looking for meeting room space in Harrogate, the hotel has a good variety of rooms of various sizes suitable for a fairly large meeting or event down to small private rooms for a small board meeting.

One of the features I really liked was a small private dining room just off of the restaurant which would be perfect for a private dinner for a small group.

Breakfast was plentiful and served everything from the full English breakfast to continental with cereals, fruits and danish pastries.

Finally no visit to Harrogate is complete without a walk through the amazing Valley Gardens which was only a ten minute walk from the hotel. The gardens feature many unusual plants from countries like New Zealand and Japan and are very very well looked after. There is a lovely little cafe in the park where you can sit outside to watch people walking past with their dogs or taking photographs or just passing a quiet day in Harrogate.
