The Psalter Hotel - a great addition to Sheffield.

I love going to see new hotels, especially independent ones that are privately owned. These are often really different from the big corporate hotels that I also book but much more interesting. I do wish I had half the talent of some of the owners in creating beautiful spaces.

One hotel which has just opened is the Psalter Hotel in Sheffield on Psalter Lane. It has only started to take reservations for about a week or so, so it really is brand new. Behind the hotel is a small car park which is very convenient all though there is also street parking too.

The Psalter hotel was originally two Victorian houses that are now joined together and this leads to a lot of unusual features and room dimensions.

The hotel has a good selection of bedrooms from singles to doubles and triples. All the bedrooms are individually designed with the modern traveler in mind with some great features including mirrors with Bluetooth in the bathroom, bedside phone charging points, additional electricity sockets hidden within the furniture, and some beautiful views over Sheffield from the bedroom windows.

The hotel has a modern residents bar with some beautiful flower decorations and will eventually be opening a much larger venue for both residents and non-residents.

Psalter Lane is close to Endcliffe Park and within walking distance of both Sharrowvale Road and Ecclesall Road which have a wide variety of shops, bars, and restaurants. It is also within a short taxi ride or bus ride of the city centre.
